Field Parade 03:08
This is a color I don't know if I have seen Well your eyes are good luck so I'll lick them clean (Shiny ‘til I see me) A circling bird above Catches drift that the mice The mice are loose The wind is still But the grass still moves Find them at a picnic on the surface of the moon Or burrowed deep below where the trees grow roots Find them in a bird bath thinking it’s theirs too Winning at a game where there are no rules Mostly hair deep stares into the bottom of my soul (I saw you dancin’ on the dandelions without bending them) The mice are loose The wind is still But the grass still moves The mice are loose
2.
Hands outstretched In busy dreams The wind upon your arm As the car you’re in is speeding towards the ocean up afar The city sky floats bags above Like jellyfish of sorts Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh OohOoh Jellyfish are in the sky A dream I’m in is at high tide Jellyfish are in the sky The dream I'm in is at high tide And jellyfish are in the sky Plastic bags are in the sea I hear the whales sing out to me Plastic bags are in the sea I hear the whales sing out to me
3.
Space may just find me flailing about I was not cut out for leaving solid ground When I’m in the air I don't even care about Bein lost and found Care about Being lost and found Spin with me The dizziness will cure you of your laughter Actually the saturn rings are just the shirt I’m after Actually the saturn rings are just the shirt I’m after A good reminder lends its hand to me The thick sky leaning towards the sea An itching in my feet to Spin with me The dizziness will cure you of your laughter Actually the saturn rings are just the shirt I’m after Actually the saturn rings are just the shirt I’m after Spin with me Spin with me Spin with me Spin with me

about

STARHEADBODY is an open-ended musical collective, established and led by professional skateboarder Evan Smith. Living by the motto “Everybody In”, each STARHEADBODY release features new collaborative artists, allowing a wide range of expression through experimental compositions and recording environments. This mindset allows Evan to capture audio snapshots of the many adventures that he finds himself in by collaborating with other musicians he discovers along the way, whether it’s skateboarding through Europe, or searching for himself in a cabin in the woods. Every STARHEADBODY project represents a new experience, through the psyche of the different personalities collaborating on a common goal.

“Field Parade” is the latest addition to the varied spectrum of music from the STARHEADBODY catalog. While Evan Smith was recovering from a skateboarding injury, and the wheels were spinning in his head, he found himself composing three songs that emitted similar auras, birthing the base of this EP. This limited release aims to emulate a fun free vibe, with a solid base of psychedelic rock waves. Evan enlisted the help of his uncle, Mike Speranzo to lay down some bass guitar on the tracks. Josh Unger, a returning contributor to STARHEADBODY, laid down the drums. And the vocals for the three songs were contributed by Merce Lemon, the newest collaborator in the collective, adding varied expressive lyrics to tie it all together. Drawing inspiration from images such as urban jellyfish to the stunning rings of Saturn, to the grandiose delusions of tripping mice. In Evan’s own words, “It’s about being free and experiencing the world as an open entity, just like mice roaming an open field.”
